HAWX 2 is literally the first sequel I've ever seen which diminishes every single positive quality of its successor while featuring absolutely nothing positive to compensate for this. It's no Ace Combat, and it definitely isn't Crimson Skies, but the series is the best only modern example of the genre available on PC, so I played the hell out of HAWX 1, and in fact will be replaying it momentarily just to wash the taste of HAWX 2 out of my mouth. I played and loved the original HAWX arcade air-combat title. While I admit I've appreciated the few occasions during which I was able to just plug in my 360 controller and play, my support is hereby withdrawn for reasons which I will go into momentarily. it mandates full preconfiguration for 360 controllers on PC. In the past I've written posts in support of the GFW initiative (note: not the same thing as the foul travesty that is GFWL) for one and one reason only. These times have evidently long since passed. I remember a time when the input you configured a game to accept was the only damn input it gave a shit about. I remember a time when games would let you assign input from any damn interface peripheral you felt like using.
