It's an Xbox insider issue and not a Sling issue it seems. Everything works perfectly normal in 1080p mode.
If you are in the Xbox Alpha preview program, then you'll need to disable 4K on your Xbox while using Sling. They narrowed down the issue pretty quickly. EDIT: Sling support reached out and had a an engineer on the phone with us.
